The Congressional Hepatitis Caucus, co-chaired by Rep. Grace Meng and Rep. Hank Johnson, introduced a resolution (H.Res. 563) recognizing July 28, 2021 as World Hepatitis Day. World Hepatitis Day is commemorated each year by the World Health Organization and by governments, organizations, and advocates in countries all over the world. Now is a great time to send an overview of key statistics and policy priorities to remind Congress of the urgent need for greater support and prioritization of viral hepatitis elimination.
As part of this year's B the Change Advocacy Challenge, we encourage you to take a moment to reach out to your Members of Congress to help raise awareness and advocate for hepatitis B prevention, surveillance, and research to find a cure. To review key hepatitis B stats and policy priorities, please download our updated advocacy fact sheet. A link to this fact sheet is also included in the template messages provided here to send to your Members of Congress.
